Koncerthuset is designed by Jean Nouvel, who is also the architect behind the prize-winning Institute of the Arab World in Paris, and the acoustics are designed by probably the best acoustician in the world, Yasuhisa Toyota, who can also claim credit for the acousticsof Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
Koncerthuset opened with a gala concert in January 2009 and is the home of Dr’s three orchestras and six choirs. Koncerthuset is the venue for an eclectic mix of events – ranging from Thursday concerts via music awards shows to meetings and conferences.
Getting there and parking
DR Koncerthuset is located on Ørestads Boulevard 13, København S, and is easily accessible by public transportation. We therefore encourage all guests to take the metro or bus, since the number of parking spaces is limited.
Metro and bus
The metro stops at DR Byen metro station every 5 minutes (the green line M1 end-destination: Vestamager).
Bus-lines 33, 35, 77 og 78 also all stop at DR Byen on Amager Fælledvej. From here it is only a few minutes of walking to the DR Koncerthus.
Bikes can be parked under the metro railway. Parking your bike alongside the wall of DR konserthuset, is not allowed since this can block escape routes.

There is a limited amount of parking spaces at DR Byen. Parking costs 20 kr . Per . commenced hour . P- ticket can be bought in the machines at the parking area. It is also possible to buy a one-day ticket (parking over two hours) in the parking booth next to the helpdesk at the Concert Hall.
