What is a Green Building Council
Green Building Councils (GBCs) are member-based organizations that partner with industry and government in the transformation of their buildings and their communities towards sustainability. On the ground in over 80 countries, GBCs create change in their local markets as a way to globalize environmentally and socially responsible building practices. World Green Building Council is an umbrella organization supporting all the national Green Building Councils.

Nordic Green Building Councils have been strengthening mutual co-operation since 2010. One result of the collaboration is the Nordic GBC Conference, which will be organized now for the third time (2011 Stockholm, 2012 Oslo, 2013 Helsinki).
Similar climate and environmental circumstances, regulatory and steering mechanism alongside with cultural & societal conditions create a natural grounds for effective collabaration between the Nordic countries. The Nordic GBCs believe that boarder-crossing teamwork is the key element for developing practices and know-how in regards to sustainable real estate and construction sector.
